BIBLE STUDY GROUPS
Why Study the Bible?

Never has Biblical study been more important than now. In the shadow of a violent world, we are to shine the peace of Christ. In the shadow of our culture’s apathy, we are to shine the light of Christ’s radical compassion. In the shadow of a consumer mindset, we are called to shine the light of generous hearts and souls.

When you read the Scriptures with your family and receive God’s grace through His Word and Sacraments, you are naturally equipped with the tools that God gives to show how radically different the Kingdom of Jesus is in comparison to the rest of this world. Our courses tackle tough questions, tough practical situations in life, and deep study of the Scriptures. Divine Redeemer encourages you to seek out a study that engages your passion and interests, so that you grow in your connection to Jesus and so that “in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.”

SMALL GROUPS
DR’s Small Group ministry is a chance for people to meet in an intimate setting to discuss their journey in Christ. Each group determines their own meeting schedule – often weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly – as well as the study they wish to follow. DR has a library of studies that groups can choose from, or they’re welcome to find something that appeals to its members. At times the church will coordinate a study for all small groups to work on at the same time. Groups can meet at DR as space allows, but often rotate among group members’ homes or even at a restaurant or other location.
Groups are typically 10-12 people, and are often designed around people who have common interests – young parents, empty nesters, singles, teens, retirees, etc., and can include both adults and children. This gives group members an immediate connection point which can help facilitate good discussions. In many cases, though, groups just form by people who are connected by their desire to grow their faith and connect with other members. It’s all up to the members of the group. For those needing help finding a group, DR’s Small Groups Director can help match people up.
Being part of a small group helps you feel more connected to Divine Redeemer and grow in your faith. You will be part of a that wants to pray together, share together and serve together.
It doesn’t matter where you are in your faith journey....there is a group for you! New groups are always forming and just waiting for you to join!
Please let me help you find a group that’s right for you!

STUDY WITH THE PASTORS
Thursdays at 9:30 AM • September through May

The Study With the Pastors Bible Group is for any age as we are young at heart and spry here at Divine Redeemer with a strong and active group meeting every Thursday at 9:30 AM for Bible study and fellowship, as well as special events throughout the year. Many of us come early on Thursdays to volunteer our time and talents as needed. The ministry that the Study With the Pastors Bible Group provides reaches far beyond the Fellowship Hall at Divine Redeemer. We are active in social functions, attending several plays, concerts, Christian comedies, dinner shows, and luncheons, as well as generously donating goods and services for service men and women overseas and the Giving Heart Fund.

Each week, we come together to hear God’s Word. Our three Divine Redeemer pastors share the responsibilities of leading us in Bible study, guiding us through the scriptures and providing a wealth of Biblical knowledge, as well as encouragement and laughter.
Join us - you are always welcome.
